If someone asks me my favourite romance books they’re top mind and they’re the two first books I think of, which doesn’t mean I’ll recommend them right away because I prefer asking the reader what they’re looking for un romance. I gave those two books 5/5 stars and even now I’m just wishing for a reread.
But oh well, I guess you discover more about yourself reading the romance genre than anything (also Lucas in TARE is so boyfriend material I think I could rethink the DILF postulate). I don’t know why the story of the two heroines resonated so much with me, because I haven’t had to deal with loss and grief like they did and I didn’t think until those two books that I loved the love interest to have that kind of fatherly brooding figure. They’re my ultimate favourites in the Zapataverse. I want that Pride and Prejudice‘s vibe with all the tension and longing and huh, I think you got it, didn’t you?Īnd with no further ado, here is my tier ranking of the 11 books I’ve read, the last one left being Lingus, which I think was her first one.Īs you can see, All Rhodes Lead Hereand Wait For It have my whole heart. I wan’t to be on the edge of my chair all way through, anxiously waiting for something – anything– to happen between the love interests and see how things unfold like a Christmas present. Now, I’m lucky if I don’t get bored in the first third of a romance book when everything happens so fast it doesn’t even seem relatable. It was just so beautiful and cursed me to be a slow burn lover for ever. I don’t know if that’s why it’s my ultimate favourite out of the 11 I’ve gone through. It’s funny that the first book of her’s I’ve read was her last one.

I even started DNFed some books (better late than never) because my life is too short for me trying to finish books I don’t like just for the sake of saying that I finished it and counting it on my yearly challenge. I’ve wanted to do this rating for a while now, because I realised that Mariana Zapata is one of the authors -if not the one- I’ve read the most books of.Īnd if you think aboutit that must mean something, right? Who give that much time and money and pages to an author they don’t love?
